Yue Shao is a student enrolled in the Master of Sciences in Building Engineering program at the U of A. She is currently working in the area of hygrothermal behaviour of masonry walls. She joined Dr. Yuxiang Chen’s research group in September 2018.
She received her BSc degree in Civil Engineering in July 2017 from Hunan University in China. Prior to enrolling at the University of Alberta, she had several internships with China Architecture Design & Research Group and another construction company as a structural engineer. Yue’s research focus is the hygrothermal behaviour of masonry walls. Nowadays, energy consumption issues are the focus of the world, and green buildings will become the building trend of the future. Better understanding building characteristics can greatly reduce the energy consumption of buildings.
